Classes and open play
Run a class with a roster and a lesson for each session, and see the progress students choose to share. When the class ends, make it a group. Open play takes bookings, sends reminders and keeps a waitlist.

I’m Caleb Zimmermann. I build software in the Twin Cities.
My mother-in-law, Renee, has taught 28 people to play mahj. She starts the game nights, sits with the new players, sends them videos and finds the fourth. I built this app for her.
Now I’d like to build it with people who teach this game every week. That’s what the council is for.

It takes about two minutes. Caleb reads every application and will reach out personally within a few days.
Questions
- Does it cost me anything?
- No. Applying is free, and council members get Serious Player free, forever. Serious Player is the paid plan ($4.99 a month or $39.99 a year for everyone else) that lifts the free limits on practice games, reviews, the full card, group size and public events. For your students, the Daily and the beginner lessons are always free, and so are groups of up to 20.
- Do I have to post about it?
- No. If you choose to, please mention that you're on the council.
- I already use other tools for my classes. Is that a problem?
- No. Keep what works. Try the app with one class or group and tell Caleb what it is missing.
- When is the monthly call?
- Once a month, 45 minutes, on video. The time is picked to suit most of the group, and you can skip one.
- Is there a contract?
- No payment, no contract and no exclusivity. You can leave any time and keep Serious Player.
